Phone bank volunteers are needed for the Susan Bangert campaign for Iowa House. You may think this stuff doesn't happen locally anymore since robo calls were invented. But it does still happen when campaigns are organized enough to do it.

The Bangert campaign has a specific need for calls. They will be easy to do but timeliness is key. Call now to see if you can be on the phone for Susan at the right time. Call Susan's Pocahontas contact, Jerry Depew, at 712-845-4496.

Iowa a Pro-War State

The Iowans in the US House have all voted for more war funding: $33 billion in supplemental spending. It hasn't done much good to elect Democrats in the anti-war wave of 2006, since both of them (Braley and Loebsack) went along with Obama. Candidate Obama had promised to stop the bad habit of funding the war outside the budget. But he has adopted more of Bush's bad ideas than he has changed.

DailyKos has sued polling firm Research 2000 for fraudulent polling. That is why I have removed the front page link on this site that went to a DailyKos post. The post concerned a poll by Research 2000 that purported to show what Republicans think. Since its veracity is now in question, you'll have to look for it elsewhere.

Susan Bangert campaigned all day Wednesday in Laurens. Today it's all day at Pocahontas Heritage Days, starting with the parade. Make an effort to find Susan if you are downtown today. You'll like her.
